I deleted something by mistake
Open the Photos app › Albums › Recently Deleted. Everything RIDD clears waits there for 30 days. Tap the item and choose Recover. On a Mac, files from drives are in the Trash: open it and choose Put Back.
How does RIDD pick the one to keep?
Copies: the best-quality copy (most pixels, then biggest file). Lookalikes: the sharpest shot, with the best faces when there are people. Takes: the longest take. Favorites are always kept. Tap any frame to change it: a white circle means keep, a red X means it goes. One frame in every set always stays.
RIDD only sees some of my photos
You gave RIDD access to selected photos. To clean the whole library, open Settings › Privacy & Security › Photos › RIDD and choose Full Access.
Videos only in iCloud
RIDD compares the opening frame of every video. For videos stored on the device it also checks a frame from the middle. It never downloads your videos from iCloud to compare them.
Search tips
Try: “duplicate videos”, “screenshots older than 6 months”, “videos over 500 MB”, “screen recordings”, “blurry photos”, “dark pocket shots”, “receipts”, “live photos from 2024”. RIDD shows how it read your words as tags — tap a tag to drop it.
Keep forever
Long-press (or right-click on a Mac) any frame and choose Keep forever. RIDD won't suggest it again. Manage the list from the Keep List on the home screen.
Purchases
Scanning, searching and reviewing are always free, and the first 150 items you clear are free. RIDD Unlimited is a one-time $0.99 purchase for iPhone, iPad and Mac on the same Apple Account. On a new device, open Settings in RIDD and tap Restore purchase. If you have a code, tap Redeem a code.
Privacy
RIDD collects nothing and works on your device. Read the privacy policy.
